Lara Taubman
“The Gospel of Getting Free”
EPK
Lara Taubman has spent a lifetime devoted to creating beauty as a way to cope with daily life. She believes in the power of music to heal as she has seen it work its magic on her and saved her life many times.
She hails from Roanoke, Va. in the midst of the Appalachian Mountains. The shady groves of the Blue Ridge mountains permeated her childhood and continue to resonate throughout her life. Despite having spent a long career in the visual arts and design internationally as a painter, an art critic and curator, she found herself on a mountain top in Montana ten years ago with a guitar and a deep desire to sing, perform and write her own songs.
Today she lives in New York City, what she calls the creative city of her home. She is about to release her third album “The Gospel of Getting Free” on June 21. She released her first single “Home at Last” and you can listen here. Her second single from the album will be released on June 6. She works with an award winning team of musicians, writers and producers. Drummer and producer Steven Williams, Paul Frazier on bass, Etienne Lytle on keys, Walter Parks co-writer and guitars, Askold Buk, co-writer and guitar player, Teddy Kumpel, co-writer and guitar player. The album was recorded at Atomic Sound Recording Studios in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.
She looks forward to sharing her new album with the world as she believes that she is a channel to spread the healing medicine of story and sound.
